Safe T Cert


Safe-T-Cert is a third party accredited Health and Safety management system for the construction industry. It is based on the 'best practice' requirements of relevant international and national bodies.

Safe-T-Cert is a recognised system under the 'Buildsafe' initiative in Northern Ireland and the 'Construction Safety Partnership' in the Republic of Ireland. Under Safe T-Cert, clients are assured that certified contractors have an effective health and safety management system.
Only companies that have gone through a detailed certification process and have met the minimum criteria will receive certification.

Braidwater register all sites no matter how large or small with the Considerate Constructors scheme.

The scheme is a national initiative to improve the image of construction through better management and presentation on its sites. Its aim is to raise the standards of construction design and management above statutory requirements. Braidwater are bound by the “Code of Considerate Practice” under 8 different categories i.e. considerate, environment, cleanliness, good neighbours, respectful, safety, responsible and accountable.

The NHBC is the independent regulatory body for the house-building industry in the UK. NHBC's mission is to set and improve the standard of new homes across the UK. NHBC does this by registering house builders, setting standards of construction, carrying out checks during construction and providing a range of warranty and insurance services. Braidwater Limited has enjoyed A1 status with NHBC for over 35 years.

The Federation, acts as the representative body for reputable construction firms in Northern Ireland and promotes the interests of employers in the Construction Industry.

As members of the Federation, Braidwater obtain recognition in the eyes of Government Departments, client bodies and the public at large.

The Federation is at the forefront of issues of concern to the construction industry. These include tendering procedures and procurement issues, contract problems, training, health and safety, urban regeneration and the implications of European legislation.

The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland is an independent public body established under the Northern Ireland Act 1998. The Commission's general duties include: 

  • working towards the elimination of discrimination 
  • promoting equality of opportunity and encouraging good practice 
  • promoting affirmative / positive action 
  • promoting good relations between people of different racial groups 
  • overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of the statutory duty on public authorities. 
  • keeping the relevant legislation under review

On 1 October 1999 the commission took over the functions previously exercised by the Commission for Racial Equality for Northern Ireland, the Equal Opportunities Commission for Northern Ireland, the Fair Employment Commission and the Northern Ireland Disability Council.

The Standard provides a national framework for improving business performance and competitiveness, through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet these objectives.

As Investors in People Braidwater develop strategies to improve performance, take action to improve same and evaluate the impact on the performance of the organisation. Braidwater achieved Investors in People recognition in July 2002 and a successful reassessment in April 2004.
