Diversity Recognition Award

Mrs Marie Ferguson MCIOB, Procurement Manager at Braidwater has received a Certificate of Recognition Award for efforts of good practice in employment projects for equality and diversity in the Construction Industry. Marie was the only nominee from Northern Ireland to receive this prestigious Award, which was presented by the All – Party Parliamentary Group on Construction Skills and Training in Westminster. Marie was nominated by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) who acknowledges the ongoing work that she carries out to promote the ongoing ‘Women in Construction Campaign.’ This work includes giving talks in schools, colleges and Universities, organising site visits, representation at careers fairs and arranging job sampling. Catherine McGeady, New Entrant Manager, CITB said, "Females are under represented in construction, an industry which needs approximately 4,000 new recruits each year for the next five years. We are delighted that Marie has received recognition for all the hard work and effort she has put in over the years in order to continuously promote women in construction."
