Just over two weeks after moving into their new Braidwater home, Jamie and Raisa Vinnicombe already feel a deep sense of belonging and excitement for the years ahead.

The Vinnicombe family (L-r): Leighton, Jamie, Rowan, Raisa and Quinn.

This isn’t their first time choosing Braidwater, after more than nine happy years in their previous home in Broighter Gardens, they never expected to leave. But with their three girls, Quinn, Leighton and Rowan, growing up fast, their needs began to change.

“We didn’t move because we wanted to,” Raisa shared. “We moved because our family needed more space and we knew first hand what a Braidwater home offered.

From the outset, the support and guidance was there with Lynsey in Bensons keeping them updated on every new release, knowing how important the right fit would be. Though they hadn’t initially considered a chalet bungalow, the moment they were made aware of the layout, everything changed. With four bedrooms, high ceilings, and an airy, generous layout, the home instantly felt right.

“It’s exceeded every expectation we had,” Jamie said. “The space, the light, the layout… it’s just perfect for our family.”

One of the biggest comforts for them was the ease of buying a new-build home. With no bidding wars and no uncertainty, they were able to focus on what mattered most, finding a place where their girls could grow up in a safe and secure environment.

Now, settled in and surrounded by boxes slowly disappearing, the Vinnicombes already see this as their forever home. Even with three little ones running around, the house remains calm, quiet and spacious:

“With young children, you really value a home that’s sound-proofed,” Raisa laughed.  “A noisy household is hard to keep the baby asleep in!”

The chalet bungalow layout offers both comfort and long-term practicality, especially with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. They also chose a few upgrades, including beautiful coving, that have added an elegant finish they’re thrilled with.

Family will play a big role in their new chapter too. Jamie’s parents live just a short walk away in the same Roe Wood development with Raisa’s parents only a short distance as well. Christmas and birthdays, they say, will feel even more special now that everyone is so close.

Beyond family, the sense of community has been one of the biggest surprises. Even before moving in, soon-to-be neighbours were chatting on the new street and getting to know each other.

Warm, spacious, and surrounded by people who already feel like friends, their new Braidwater home has become the foundation for a new stage of life, one rooted in love, family, and the comforting knowledge that they’re exactly where they’re meant to be.
