When John and Tamara first began their search for a new family home in Limavady, they knew exactly what they needed – space for their young children to grow, play, and make memories. Renting had served its purpose, but they were ready for something of their own – a place to put down roots, make it theirs, and finally call “home.”

In April 2025, that dream started to become reality when they reserved their beautiful new Braidwater home. Just five months later, on the 19th of September, they received the keys – an unforgettable milestone that marked the beginning of a brand-new chapter for their family.

“The moment we held those keys was surreal,” says Tamara. “After so many months of drive-bys and peeking through the windows, finally being able to step inside was magical. We didn’t even tell the kids at first – we brought them to the house, let them look through the window, and then surprised them by opening the front door. Their faces said it all.”

Their journey started with a conversation with Lynsey at Bensons, who from the very beginning showed dedication and care. At first, there were no suitable homes available, but Lynsey promised to keep in touch and true to her word, she called them later that year with news that a four-bedroom home had become available. “We couldn’t believe our luck,” says John. “Not only was it exactly what we needed, but it came with a spacious garden, perfect for the kids and their friends. We’re already planning to add a trampoline and some garden furniture in the spring.”

After visiting the show home, John and Tamara instantly fell in love with the homes, particularly with the details like the elegant coving. They decided to add a few extra personal touches, along with the coving, including wooden flooring, giving their home that extra warm, welcoming finish they had imagined.

Throughout the process, they were supported every step of the way. Eamonn Devlin, the site manager, was always available with friendly advice and practical help. Their mortgage advisor, Jane at DMC, ensured everything went smoothly behind the scenes, and Lynsey continued to be a constant source of knowledge and reassurance. “Lynsey was fantastic,” says Tamara. “She really knows her stuff, and nothing was ever too much trouble.”

Now, five weeks in, the family couldn’t be happier. “It’s been everything we’ve been waiting for, and more,” says John. “The whole process was seamless. Everything worked 100% and when you see it for the first time, it just takes your breath away.”

With John working from home full-time, the house provides space for both family life and a comfortable home office. For the kids, it’s a dream come true, a safe, happy place where memories are already being made.

“It’s perfect,” Tamara smiles. “Nothing feels like it’s missing. This really is home.”
