When Shane O’Neill and his partner Danielle began looking for their first home together, they never imagined how perfectly everything would fall into place.

Shane, originally from Claudy, and Danielle, from the Waterside, had long hoped to find a house that would suit their lives together. Their search brought them to Beech Hill View, a community that struck them as being in just the right location – not right in the middle, but close enough to everything they needed.
The journey to their new home began with a call that came as a delightful surprise. “We’d spoken with Ciara McCarron in Donnybrook, and at first, all the plots were booked. Then, out of the blue, she called to say one had become available,” Shane recalls. “It was an amazing opportunity, and we knew we had to take it.” That unexpected moment set the tone for what would be a seamless and enjoyable process.
From the start, the couple found the selections process straightforward and supportive. Ciara’s patience and guidance made all the difference, helping them feel confident in their choices. Shane’s mother also played a role, lending her eye for finishing touches that elevated the home’s design. The couple’s new kitchen island, one of their favorite features, adds a special touch to their family and dining space.
Moving in was both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, especially for Danielle as she collected the keys. Shane was under the weather at the time, but with the support of family and friends, the big move happened quickly.
Site foreman Kevin Cosgrove was particularly helpful, showing Danielle everything she needed to know and ensuring the transition was smooth. “It was hectic, but at the same time, it felt calm. The moment we stepped in, it already felt like home,” Danielle says.
Now settled, the family including Shane’s 5 year old son Cade, is enjoying the independence and comfort their new home brings. Beech Hill View has provided not only the perfect setting for day-to-day life but also a welcoming community.
Neighbours have gone out of their way to be friendly, including a nice moment when Danielle’s car broke down and someone immediately offered assistance. The park nearby has become a favorite spot for Cade, allowing him to play safely while making new friends.
For Shane and Danielle, this house represents more than just a property, it’s the foundation of a life they’ve dreamed about. They’ve met new people, created a new routine for their family, and finally have a space that feels truly theirs.
“We always wanted to get a place together, and now we have the perfect house, in the perfect location,” Shane reflects. For them, Beech Hill View isn’t just where they live, it’s where they belong.
