With Christmas just around the corner the Braidwater Group has worked in partnership with Foyle Food Bank to provide a container which will be used for essential food storage during the colder months.

Darren Farnan of the Braidwater Group was keen to highlight the importance of the Food Bank, especially at this time of year:

‘’The Foyle Food Bank provides a critical service for individuals and families who are in a position of financial impoverishment and the Braidwater Group is delighted to be able to provide storage for non perishable foods. We’ll also be making a financial donation over the next week as well as offering collection and delivery support. We encourage the people of Derry to support those who are in need and to give a little extra this festive season by donating to this very worthwhile cause.’’

James McMenamin, manager of Foyle Foodbank with Darren Farnan from Braidwater.

James Mc Menamin, manager of the Foyle Foodbank confirmed how important any donation is:

‘’The Foyle Foodbank would like to thank Joe McGinnis and the staff at Braidwater for their continued support. They have provided us with additional storage this Christmas to help us meet the demands of our clients and this will enable us to organise the food donated before it is prepared for going out to families in need this year. Food poverty is unfortunately on the rise within Derry and the surrounding areas, and we welcome any financial or non perishable food contribution, whether small or large.’’
