For Ben and Lauren Murphy, a wee trip out earlier this year ‘for a nosey’ around the Deanery Place show home was the best decision of their lives!

It was a Sunday early in 2024 and Ben and Lauren went out for a drive to Lisfannon beach in Donegal with their young son and happened to notice the Facebook advertisement for Braidwater’s new development at Deanery Place on the Buncrana Road.

Ben takes up the story: ‘We just thought let’s take a look, it will only be 10 minutes but that turned into 60 minutes as we were blown away by what we saw!. We instantly knew we had to move there.

‘I’m a blow-in and Lauren is from the Branch Road in Derry but we never really thought about moving to the cityside. We were living out in Gortnessy Meadows in Lettershandoney and it was great but this trip changed everything for us.

‘The location, the house style, the finish, the turnkey options, everything was above and beyond anything we expected, and had experienced previously, so we booked a plot!

All the homes at Deanery Place, which are now fully reserved, come with an upgrade finish as standard including solid wood kitchen doors and quartz worktop.

Ben continued: ‘Anyway, we decided to go for the sparkly shingle quartz worktop and added a few extras like built-in wardrobes and an island. We couldn’t help it as we didn’t want to regret not spoiling ourselves at some stage and everything else offered by Braidwater was perfect.

‘We moved from a 3-bedroom house to a 4-bedroom and as I work from home the fourth bedroom comes in handy. And I must add – we were surprised and shocked, as the gas heating is an extra bonus!!! We had oil before so this is just amazing, having a home that’s easier to heat and the instant hot water.’

Ben also complimented the Braidwater and Donnybrook teams on their professionalism and help throughout. ‘We can’t compliment the staff enough – from Ciara in Donnybrook, Cormac and Joysclen in the Braidwater Sales Team as well as Marty, the site foreman. We’ve had nothing but support and guidance throughout from them all.’

The new Deanery Place homeowner went on to sum up how Lauren and he felt at the time of receiving the keys to their new home and what it meant to them.

‘The day we received the keys it was like having a weight lifted off our shoulders. The sale of our previous home was delayed but Braidwater were on hand to help out and ensure the process kept on track. 

‘This was absolutely the best decision of our lives, and now we have our ‘forever’ home…’
