Residents of Cloughan View are invited to a free 45-minute Gardening and Biodiversity Demonstration taking place on Thursday 30 July at 7.00pm in the main green area of the development.

Hosted by Braidwater and led by horticultural expert Gareth Austin (BBC), the interactive outdoor session will provide practical advice on planting trees, shrubs and garden plants, while demonstrating how simple gardening techniques can help create healthier, more wildlife-friendly outdoor spaces.

The live demonstration will cover planting techniques, soil preparation, watering, mulching and aftercare, alongside practical biodiversity measures such as choosing pollinator-friendly plants, supporting birds and beneficial insects, and creating habitats that help local wildlife thrive. Residents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert gardening advice.

The event forms part of Braidwater’s ongoing commitment to enhancing biodiversity across its developments, encouraging residents to play their part in creating greener, more sustainable communities where people and nature can flourish together.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they’re an experienced gardener or just looking for ideas to make the most of their garden. And to round off the evening, organisers have hinted there may even be a surprise free ice cream cone for those attending.

The event is free, no booking is required, and residents are encouraged to gather at the main green area in Cloughan View from 7.00pm on Thursday 30 July for an enjoyable evening of gardening, community and biodiversity.
